The string of Seal Beach bank robberies continued yesterday when the Wachovia bank at 13962 Seal Beach Blvd, Seal Beach, was held up at about 2:00 in the afternoon. This marks the third time this year this branch has been robbed, and the Seal Beach Police Department say the last two robberies were by the same suspect. The previous robbery was on October 13, 2009—less than a month ago.
Yesterday’s robbery brings the total number of bank robberies in Seal Beach this year to 6. By comparison, Los Alamitos has had only 1 bank robbery so far this year. Besides the robber who hit The Washington Mutual Bank back in January of this year, who was arrested by the FBI, all of the other suspects got away.
The Seal Beach Police Department reported that on Monday, November 9, the Wachovia Bank at 13962 Seal Beach Blvd was robbed at about 2:00.
The police statement said “Upon the officers’ arrival, it was learned that the suspect was a white male who had presented a written note to the bank teller demanding money and stating he had a gun. The suspect was last seen exiting the front doors of the bank. There was no weapon seen. A search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.”
The police statement described the bad guy as a “white male, 30-35 years of age, between 5’8 and 5’10, 180, unshaven, trimmed short brown hair wearing a tan baseball hat, blue long sleeve jacket, blue t-shirt, blue jeans and Band-Aids over the left earlobe.”
