The City of Seal Beach announced the following activities, signup deadlines, and program information.
FINE ART CAMPS!
“Art of the Masters – World Cultures” campers cover cultures from Egyptian art to Japan’s art of Manga (cartooning). Students in this fabulous art camp will explore and create incredible cultural works of art from around the world. This one week camp is held Monday through Friday, August 16th – August 20th from 9:00 am – 12:00pm for ages 5 ½ - 8 years.
“Art of the Masters - Painting” campers will create larger scale paintings inspired by the Master’s of Modern and Contemporary art movements. This one week camp is held Monday through Friday, August 16th – August 20th, 12:30 – 3:30 pm for ages 5 ½ - 10 years.
Art of the Masters camps are held at the Marina Community Center, 151 Marina Drive and each camp session costs $161 in addition to a $30 material fee.
BUBBLES AND BALLOONS CAMP!
“Bubbles and Balloons” campers will deal with every kind of bubble and every kind of balloon and there are billions of them. Play with giant bubbles, tiny bubbles and bubbles inside bubbles. Learn how to build bubbles you’ve never imagined and make your own tools to create the perfect bubbles. Camp is held Monday through Friday, August 16th – August 20th, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm for ages 4 – 6 years.
Camp is held at the Marina Community Center, 151 Marina Drive and each camp costs $150.
HEY SKATEBOARDERS!
Skateboarding is one of the world’s fastest growing sports! Whether you’re just learning, ready to learn more advanced tricks, or just want to skate in our private skate park, Skatedogs skateboarding camp is right for you! Make new friends, advance your skateboarding skills and most importantly have fun! Camp requirements: signed Skatedogs waiver, skateboard, helmet, knee pads, & elbow pads. Camp meets from 3:30-6:30pm, Monday – Friday, August 30th – September 3rd. Meet at El Dorado Park West, located at 2400 Studebaker Rd. The cost per week is $164 and camp is for ages 7-13 years.
SKYHAWK SPORTS CAMP!
Skyhawks provides fun, safe, and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Participants receive a T-shirt and merit award; and should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes and sunscreen. Camps are held at Heather Park, located at Heather St at Lampson Ave in College Park East.
“Mini-Hawk” will teach soccer, baseball, and basketball in a safe, structured environment filled with encouragement and fun. Through games and activities, campers explore balance, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. Camp begins August 16th – 20th from 9am-12pm for ages 4-7 years and costs $142 for the week.
MAD SCIENCE CAMP!
“Spy-entists and Sports” invites you to discover what football players, scientists, and ballet dancers have in common. Make a new friend, CG Owl, and find out what he has to say about gravity and sports. Be a Super Spy and use Morse code to send secret messages to your friends. Launch a water bottle rocket and let your nose be your guide on a trail of scents. Includes a Mad Science t-shirt.
Camp will be held during the week of August 23 – August 27, Monday – Friday, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm for ages 5 - 12 years at the Marina Community Center, 151 Marina Drive. Cost for the camp is $129 plus a $30 material fee.
GET YOUR POM POMS -- LET’S GO!
“Tiny Cheerleaders Cheer Camp” is the perfect camp for first-time cheerleaders! This is a week of Fundamentals of cheerleading with lots of encouragement. Campers will learn arm motions, jumps, chants, fun – easy pom dances, as well as crafts, games, performance skills, and team building activities. On the last day of camp, children perform for family and friends. This one week camp is held from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm for ages 5 – 8 years at a cost of $99 plus $20 fee.
“Cheerleading & Pom Pom Camp” is a week of pom pom dance and cheerleading with professionals. This camp is great for new cheerleaders or those who just want some fun over the summer. Participants will learn arm motions, jumps, chants, pom pom dances, technique, flexibility training and performance skills along with making cheerleading crafts, playing teambuilding games and performing their new cheers and dances on the last day of camp for parents and friends. This one week camp is held from 1:00 – 4:00 pm for ages 6 – 11 years at a cost of $129 plus a $20 fee.
Both of these camps are held from August 16th – August 20th at Los Alamitos Community Center located at 10911 Oak Street by the OC Dance Productions Staff.
