Los Alamitos 50th Anniversary Time Capsule:
We Need Your Ideas!
The City of Los Alamitos is planning to bury a time capsule at the 50th Anniversary Courtyard at Little Cottonwood Park as part of the celebration of the City’s birthday.
All residents, businesses, non-profit organizations and families are invited to submit ideas to the 50th Anniversary Committee for inclusion into the time capsule.
Items to be placed into the capsule need to be small and need to reflect what life is like in Los Alamitos in 2010. The goal of the 50th Anniversary Committee is to capture the thoughts of individuals and images of the City during the 50th Anniversary year.
The 50th Anniversary Courtyard at Little Cottonwood Park is set to open on September 30, 2010. The Courtyard, located right next to the playground equipment, will contain benches, trees, a 50th Anniversary monument and a courtyard filled with bricks commemorating individuals, families, organizations and businesses. The Courtyard will open prior to the time capsule being buried on the site so as to capture images from the 50th Anniversary Gala, which is a festive dinner open to the public to be held at the Eagle’s Nest at the Cypress Gold Course on Saturday, November 20, 2010. The time capsule will be buried in early December 2010.
To submit ideas for inclusion in the 50th Anniversary time capsule, contact Angie Avery at (562) 430-1073 or by emailing aavery@ci.los-alamitos.ca.us.
