Man, 60, Dies In Long Beach Shooting – No Suspects, No Motive, No Witnesses

On Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Long Beach Police responded to a "shots fired" call in the 200 block of East Arbor Street that resulted in the death of a male adult.

When officers arrived, they discovered 60-year-old Marvin Williams of Long Beach down on the ground. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the torso and was immediately transported to a local hospital. Shortly after arriving, he was pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was confronted by someone prior to the shooting; however, the motive is unclear and the investigation remains ongoing. No suspect information is available at this time and detectives are hoping someone will come forward with information.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Long Beach Police Homicide Detectives Scott Lasch and Donald Goodman at (562) 570-7244. Anonymous tips may be submitted via text or web by visiting www.tipsoft.com.
