On Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at approximately 3:55 a.m., Long Beach Police responded to a shooting call in the 200 block of W. 14th Street, which resulted in the death of a male adult.

When officers arrived, they discovered the victim, identified as 26-year-old Lashown Fils of Long Beach, down in the street. Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a few hours later.

Detectives do not believe the victim was a gang member. A motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation remains ongoing. No suspect information is available at this time and detectives are hoping that anyone with information or anyone who witnessed the shooting, who hasn't already spoken to police, will come forward.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Long Beach Police Homicide Detectives Terri Hubert and Mark Bigel at (562) 570-7244. Anonymous tips may be submitted via text or web at www.tipsoft.com.
