? Last week was finals week for the Los Alamitos and Long Beach School districts. The schools have a modified schedule during finals week and it appeared that many students chose to study at the beach. We had beautiful weather over the weekend and the beach was crowded. Looking out from Lifeguard Headquarters it was reminiscent of a summer day.
We are expecting some good surf this weekend in the 3-5 foot range. The swell direction indicates that Seal Beach should get some nice sets during the weekend. The weather is shaping up to be mid 70’s with light wind, so we expect to have larger than normal crowds.
The Seal Beach Lifeguard Association is hosting the annual Seal Beach Surfing Championships this weekend. As stated above, the surf and weather are forecast to be exceptional. The contest will be held Saturday and Sunday and will finish up early on Sunday for the Super Bowl.
