Save the date! Rossmoor’s annual Community Festival is planned to be held on May 6th this year.
In the past, the Rossmoor Homeowners Association (RHA) festival has featured live music from McAuliffe Middle School’s jazz band and the Long Beach Sound Waves Orchestra, multiple food vendors, and fun children’s rides such as a giant dual lane slide and a mechanical bull. This year Rossmoor plans to provide just as muchand more.
Popular food merchants such as Yogurtland and Dominos Pizza are hoping to provide refreshments at the festival while newer emergency-preparedness booths lend information on how to be ready for natural disasters and form emergency supply kits. The event also contains both the annual Rossmoor car show and annual dog show.
Although the community festival is mainly run by residents of Rossmoor, the RHA is looking for volunteers to help with this year’s event. In previous festivals, teenagers and adults have helped with setting up booths and cleaning up. The community service can count as part of Los Alamitos High School students’ volunteer work, which earns students recognition at graduation and on college applications.
If you’re interested in volunteering at the 2012 Rossmoor Community Festival, applications are available on the RHA website at
